Daddy's T-Shirt Quilt

Here is a T-Shirt quilt top. I am making this for a friend. Her husband died (very young) and she wanted a quilt made for their son from his T-Shirts. It is a very humbling experience to work with something like this. Those who think quilting is just a hobby or just making a "blanket" are sadly mistaken. I can't wait to get it finished to give her so she can bless their son with something so meaningful.

That's a wonderful, meaningful quilt. I'm sure they'll love it!

I've been asked to make a similar quilt for my aunt and uncle out of t-shirts they've collected in their years of running and cycling. (They're tri-athletes!)Did you attach the shirts to some kind of backing/stabilizer? I'm worried about the stretch.

Blessings--

I would also love it if you would share you technique. YoungSon has quite the collectioin of Christian t-shirts that he has outgrown, but I'd love to put them into a quilt for him.
